History of Turmeric:
Turmeric has been used in Asia for thousands of years and is a major part of Siddha Medicine. In Ayurvedic practices, turmeric has been used to treat a variety of internal disorders, such as indigestion, throat infections, common colds, or liver ailments, as well as topically to cleanse wounds or treat skin sores.
More recently Turmeric is gaining recognition amongst practitioners of western medicine and has been the subject of a number of scientific studies which appear to support its use for many medicinal purposes. In particular Turmeric is promoted for its anti-inflammatory use which can be of great benefit for those suffering from Arthritis and even more recently for its benefit to the brain and use in the combating brain degeneration.
